Quality of Biofuel from Vegetable Oils

Vegetable oils or plant oils are oils that are extracted primarily from the seeds of oilseed plants. They consist mainly of glycerides* (esters of glycerine and a varying blend of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids). They are insoluble in water and are characterized by a relatively high viscosity.

*Triglycerides, the main compound in oils and fats, consist of three fatty acids bound to the trivalent alcohol glycerine.
